Adult Education & Training
Purpose:
Provides for access to adult education and training in the workplace to persons who have been marginalised in the past. The Sub-Directorate coordinates, monitors and evaluate the implementation of adult education and training and skills development intervention programmes in Provincial Departments.
Functions
- Facilitate and coordinate adult education and training targeting Public Servants in Provincial Departments, including giving them support in accessing Computer Literacy, Financial Literacy and Retirement Planning.
- Facilitate and coordinate the training of tradesmen aids in departments through recognition of prior learning (RPL) to become fully qualified artisan in various trades.
- Coordinates the hosting of the celebration of International Literacy Day to remember those who are struggling to obtain the basic educational literacy tools that are first steps on the pathway to lifelong learning.
